Karen Cook

Mrs. Cook studied under America’s finest dance masters including the late Eugene Loring, Donald McKayle, Marion Scott, Isreal El’ Gabriel, Alwin Nikolais, Bella Lewinsky, and Jamie Rogers. She was able to study and perform with some of Los Angeles’ finer contemporary modern dance companies.

As a professional dancer, Mrs. Cook performed with numerous choreographers including, Lulu Washington and Marla Blakely (Motown Productions), toured with Lou Rawls & Dionne Warwick. She has appeared on NBC Sports World, the United Negro College Fund Telethon. She has danced on musical videos for Ashford and Simpson and the Gap Band. And Mrs. Cook spent three years and as a dancer with the Miami Heat Dancers where she was also a dance captain and an assistant to the choreographer.


Mrs. Cook has been a guest artist in residence at Fort Lewis College, Durango Colorado, Teacher/ choreographer/ performer – Fine Arts Dance Studio, Los Angeles. She was the director/choreographer at Aerofit Fitness Center – Bryan/College Station, Texas. She has served as a Georgia Department of Education Governor’s Honors Program adjudicator for dance and has been a quest teacher for the GHP dance program at Valdosta State University.
