Keisha Thomas

Keisha D. Thomas is the Color Guard Instructor for the Valdosta High School Marchin’ Cats.   Mrs. Thomas works at the General Music teacher at J. L. Lomax elementary school. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2003 and Master of Music Education in 2005. While at VSU she was a violinist in the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Marching Blazin’ Brigade color guard. Mrs. Thomas also taught classes and worked with the South Georgia String Project for seven years. In 2002 she toured Ghana, Africa with the Still Waters Youth Sinfo-Nia of Atlanta Georgia, where she conducted rehearsals and performed with the group. She is currently a member and assistant director of the African Dance Troup, Family Village of Aya, which performs at various events in South Georgia and North Florida. She is a part of the music ministry and the head of the youth dance ministry at the Church at Pine Hill.

 

Mrs. Thomas is the CEO of Arts Inc. which is a non-profit organization that teaches children about Fine Arts, and provides lessons in dance, piano, and bowed string instruments. She is a volunteer teacher at the QUOLA center which focuses on student academics and teaching life skills.  

 

Mrs. Thomas is married to Roosevelt Thomas III and they have one son who attends Newburn Middle School.
